MOVE Ireland: Contracted Sessional Facilitators (Part Time)

JOB TITLE: PART-TIME CONTRACTED SESSIONAL FACILITATORS

LOCATIONS: ATHLONE, KERRY, CORK, DUBLIN, SLIGO, LIMERICK

MOVE IRELAND:

MOVE Ireland is a dedicated organization operating within the domain
of domestic violence. Our approach involves engaging men in a
structured, weekly group process, wherein they are encouraged to take
accountability for their actions and actively work towards
transforming their behaviour and attitudes. Additionally, MOVE extends
comprehensive assistance to female partners or ex-partners of the
program participants, providing them with vital information, support,
and personalized safety planning throughout and after their partners'
or ex-partners' involvement in the program.

CONTRACT BRIEF:

MOVE Ireland is seeking dedicated and qualified individuals for the
role of Part-time Contracted Sessional Facilitators in the specified
locations. The facilitators will be responsible for conducting
assessments, one-to-one sessions, and co-facilitated group sessions as
part of the CHOICES Programme for male perpetrators of domestic abuse.
This program operates and is funded by the Department of Justice and
Equality. The facilitators will also engage in limited administrative
work and report to the MOVE Ireland Area Coordinator. The success of
this role is contingent upon sufficient referrals to the programme.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK AND PAID TIME INVOLVED:

ASSESSMENT AND ONE-TO-ONE: Men referred or self-referred to the MOVE
Programme will undergo risk and suitability assessments, typically
involving two 1½ hour sessions. If deemed suitable, participants will
engage in up to seven one-to-one pre-group sessions, each lasting one
hour. Facilitators will coordinate and conduct these sessions as
assigned by the MOVE Local Area Coordinator.

GROUP WORK: Following pre-group one-to-one sessions, participants will
join a weekly rolling group programme. This involves ½ hour of
preparation, a two-hour group session, and ½ hour of debriefing
afterward. Facilitators will work as part of a mixed-gender team of
three facilitators.

OTHER WORK-RELATED MEETINGS:

* Quarterly Clinical Supervision in group (1 – 1½ hours)
* Monthly Risk Management Meetings (1 hour)
* Monthly Peer Practice Supervision (1 hour)
* Occasional Team Meetings outside of regular sessions

ETHOS OF APPROACH: The MOVE Programme is dedicated to working in a
supportive, respectful, and challenging manner with men to hold them
accountable for their violent and abusive behaviour. The goal is to
bring about an end to this behaviour and foster more caring and
respectful ways of relating. Facilitators are expected to employ a
therapeutic sensibility, utilizing psycho-educational tools,
exercises, role-play, and engagement with live material to deepen the
work of the group. Group sessions are video-recorded for training and
practice supervision purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidates will possess a social care
qualification or equivalent, and experience facilitating groups would
be advantageous.

TRAINING: Facilitators will undergo a combination of shadowing with
experienced facilitators and completion of the Carlow Institute of
Technology’s Certificate in Facilitating Domestic Violence
Intervention Programmes with Men. This Level 8 Special Purpose Award
( * credits) combines online and residential
